Programme Manager - Telecommunications & Technology Transition

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead a significant technology and service transition programme for an organisation delivering critical infrastructure and communications services across New Zealand.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a complex, multi-stakeholder programme, transitioning established technology services into a new operating environment while ensuring continuity, reliability and security throughout.

Working with government agencies, telecommunications providers and specialist technology partners, you will lead a multidisciplinary delivery team and take accountability for the successful transition of services into business-as-usual operations.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of a complex telecommunications and technology service transition programme.
• Manage and coordinate a multidisciplinary programme team, technology vendors and external delivery partners.
• Develop and maintain integrated programme plans, managing milestones, budgets, dependencies and risks.
• Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, government agencies and telecommunications providers.
• Oversee supplier performance, commercial agreements and contractual deliverables.
• Ensure robust testing, service acceptance, operational readiness and security requirements are met.
• Manage the successful transition of services into an established operational support environment.
• Provide clear programme reporting, governance and assurance to senior leadership and steering committees.

What We're Looking For We are particularly interested in experienced Programme Managers who bring a combination of telecommunications, technology infrastructure and complex service transition experience.
Ideally, you will have:

• Extensive experience leading large, complex technology programmes.
• A strong background in telecommunications, network infrastructure or critical technology services.
• Demonstrated success delivering technology migrations, service transitions or major infrastructure programmes.
• Experience managing multiple vendors, technology suppliers and commercial relationships.
• Strong programme governance, financial management, risk management and delivery assurance capability.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate delivery across multiple organisations.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, including working with senior executives and government agencies.
• Experience transitioning complex technology services into BAU operations while maintaining service continuity.

Experience working with mobile network operators, critical communications infrastructure or large government technology programmes would be particularly valuable.

You don't need to be a hands-on technical specialist, but you will need sufficient technical understanding to confidently lead complex delivery discussions, challenge suppliers and make informed decisions.
