Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Sales Manager, with indirect supervision and daily instruction from an assigned Project Manager(s), this position is responsible for the coordination of all technical activities on assigned projects.

This position helps to ensure effective communication and coordination between all disciplines and all other project team members, including external customers and vendors. In this role, you will work on exciting, multi-million-dollar commercial MEP projects as you continue to develop your skills in estimating, scheduling and design within the design-build construction process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Project Management team on timeline and budget impacts, escalating potential problems and driving resolutions to completion.
  • Provide technical design support, interpreting plans and specifications while evaluating value engineering options and alternate solutions.
  • Assemble, oversee, and process all required project documentation, including complete submittal packages, RFIs, daily logs, POs, and procurement logs.
  • Assist with project financial and administrative tasks, including estimating, take-offs, change directives, job cost forecasting, billings, close-out documentation, and bid support.
  • Participate in the selection, hiring, and active management of subcontractors and vendors to ensure project standards are met.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing regarding scope, pricing, and delivery schedules while aligning installation procedures across Engineering, Construction, and other key stakeholders.
  • Manage onsite job progress in a hands-on capacity, using technical expertise to solve emergent operational and installation challenges.
  • Oversee project personnel and track labor, materials, deliveries, and projected completion costs to maintain project schedule and budget.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, prime contractors, trade partners, suppliers, and field personnel.
  • Represent the project team at kickoff, progress, foreman, and OAC meetings, providing clear instructions to field teams and performing other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • BS in Engineering.
  • 5+ years’ experience in estimating, design, and prosecution of HVAC projects.

Desired:

  • Degree with a Mechanical concentration.
  • Some field/construction site experience.

Travel Requirements:

Travel required 5-35% of the time to other office locations or project sites.

Hours:

This is a non-exempt position from Monday through Friday. Work hours begin and end between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm with a one-hour break for lunch and two rest breaks. Eight hours per day is required and other occasional overtime may be necessary for business needs

Competitive Wages:

$33.18 hour - $47.41 hour. Applicants please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others. The offered wage or salary is only one aspect of an employee's total compensation.
