Project Engineer
We build fast, we build right, and we take care of our people! The Burt Group is looking for an organized, proactive Project Engineer to join a high-performing team where you’ll play an essential role in keeping projects moving and teams aligned from kickoff to closeout.
This is a role for someone who is detail-oriented, collaborative, and ready to be in the middle of the action. You’ll work closely with our Project Managers and Superintendents to coordinate day-to-day operations, maintain tight document control, and ensure our projects are delivered successfully from beginning to end.
What you’ll be doing
Project Operations & Coordination: Assist with project start-up and closeout procedures, permit procurement, utility setups, and daily subcontractor scheduling and deliveries.
Document Control & Communication: Manage submittals, RFIs, and plan revisions in Procore; track material lead times; update project directories; and keep field teams fully equipped with accurate plans and specifications.
Financial & Contract Support: Support the Project Manager with owner/subcontractor change orders, change order logs, contingency tracking, and reviewing subcontractor invoices and monthly pay applications in Sage 100.
Meeting & Site Support: Attend all project kick-off, trade partner, and safety meetings; track meeting minutes; support quality control efforts alongside the Superintendent; and participate in final punch walks to drive items to completion.
