Job Summary.

Provides consultation to Mechanical Engineering, E&I Engineering, Process Engineering, and other functional areas to ensure all assignments are completed in accordance with prescribed objectives, procedures, and budget/schedule constraints. Leading and managing engineering projects from conception to completion. Developing detailed project engineering plans, including scope and schedule. Relationship with project, engineering, controls, procurement, construction, and QA/QC department’s managers. Relationship with external stakeholders engineering sub-contractors and customers Managing resources, timelines, and budgets to ensure project success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate engineering matters with the client and subcontractors.
  • Establish design engineering procedures.
  • Participate in weekly project meetings with client.
  • Review and approve engineering documents i.e. drawings, specifications and requisitions.
  • Plan and direct receiving, distribution, and filing of drawings and specifications through the Document Controller
  • Report change/supplemental work related to engineering to the Control Group. Prepare description of change proposal
  • Proactively work to continuously improve the company and its operations by LL initiatives.
  • Attend Design, drawing and model review.
  • Budget analysis, Resource Deployment, Resource management
  • Interface with subcontractors, suppliers, vendors,
  • Develop tasks related to procurement support, documentation, reporting, etc.
  • Training and experience transfer of other less experienced engineering personnel.
  • Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) coordination for specific projects
  • Critically analyze comments received from Client and advise the project team regarding potential extra-contractual requirements or scope variations.
  • Be the technical point of contact during projects execution
  • Be in constant contact with Procurement before and during assignment of critical orders

Reporting and Communication

  • Reporting to Engineering Director
  • Report any non-compliance with HSEQ requirements
  • Interact with the Project Managers regarding technical and project related challenges.

  • Ensure that relevant working methods are followed.
  • Perform tasks in such a way as to reduce environment and health risks.
  • Ensure tasks performed are to a high quality, be involved in and suggest improvements where they may be needed.
  • Participate in the evaluation of working methods and conditions thereby minimize the risk for workplace and environmental incidents and thereby minimize the risk for quality issues.
  • Ensure processes are performed in compliance with internal and external requirements, defined and documented, continually measured, evaluated, improved and secured.
  • Be proactive and Manage schedules and work to tight deadlines.

Subordinates, peers and leadership.

  • Actively participate in the appraisal process, ensuring objectives are entered into the system and are reviewed on time as required.
  • Work closely with peers to reach the common and shared goals for NOV.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/SKILL-SET REQUIRED:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree /Post graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree from recognized university.
  • >15 years experience in the Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Broad experience in Oil & Gas brownfield and greenfield facilities with EPC contractors.
  • Managing 3rd parties is a must.
  • Exposure to Process Technology is a must.
  • High order interpersonal skills and the ability to operate within a multinational environment with wide exposure to various cultures and customs.
  • High level managing skill for engineering.
  • High level coordination skill among client, vendor and internal related departments.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with ability to interact across multiple disciplines.
  • Overall knowledge of engineering design methods, procedures and codes/standards.
  • High level awareness of commercial, cost, schedule and contract.
  • Ability to influence and motivate others with regard to continuous improvements.
  • Proven ability to influence and mentor others in safety principles and behaviors
  • Proven technical experience in Mechanical / Static Equipment Engineering would be a plus
  • Equipment handled should cover material of construction of CS, LTCS, SS, CS+Clad, LAS, HAS, NACE MR0175, HIC etc. for applications with temperature ranging from hot service to cryogenic with special services like Hydrogen, Lethal, Wet Sour, Cyclic, Sea Water etc.

  • Please note the position may require 10-20% of the time spent abroad during engineering and construction follow up phases, mostly for critical projects
