Project Manager (BESS)

Summary

KIEFER TEK, a Greek renewable-energy EPC contractor, seeks a Project Manager to own utility-scale battery energy storage (BESS) projects end to end — from contract award through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover. Head-office role in Athens with selective site visits, focused on schedule, budget, contracts and client management.

About the company:

KIEFER is building Greece's integrated AI ecosystem. From renewable energy infrastructure and AI systems to robotics and enterprise applications, we connect the technologies that power Europe's intelligent future. Founded in 2014, KIEFER has delivered 600MW+ of energy projects and is now developing sovereign AI infrastructure, enterprise AI products and physical AI systems for Greece and Southeast Europe.

KIEFER TEK Ltd is a leading EPC contractor in the renewable energy sector, delivering complex energy infrastructure projects across Greece.

As our Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) portfolio continues to grow, we are strengthening our project delivery team and looking for an experienced Project Manager to take end-to-end ownership of utility-scale BESS projects — from contract award and project planning through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and final handover.

This is a head-office–based role with selective site presence, designed for a Project Manager who can maintain the full project picture: contract, scope, schedule, cost, risk, client and overall delivery.

What You Will Own

  • Take end-to-end accountability for BESS projects, from project kick-off through commissioning and final handover

  • Define and drive the project execution strategy, programme, budget, milestones and key deliverables

  • Ensure compliance with EPC contractual obligations, technical requirements and agreed project milestones

  • Own project financial performance, monitoring budget, forecast, cash flow, cost-to-complete and commercial exposure

  • Act as the primary project interface with the client, maintaining clear communication, alignment and timely decision-making throughout the project lifecycle

  • Coordinate Engineering, Procurement, Construction, HSE, Finance, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers around a single integrated delivery plan

  • Ensure engineering, procurement and construction activities remain aligned with project priorities and contractual milestones

  • Provide direction and coordination to Construction and Site Management teams, while retaining overall accountability for project performance and delivery

  • Identify project risks and critical issues early, establish mitigation actions and drive them through to resolution

  • Manage project changes, variations and claims in coordination with Commercial, Engineering and Construction teams

  • Lead project progress meetings, reviews and reporting with clients, internal stakeholders and senior management

  • Maintain effective oversight of construction progress through targeted and purposeful site visits, without being responsible for day-to-day site supervision

  • Drive projects toward safe, timely and commercially successful completion

Who We’re Looking For

  • Engineering degree, preferably in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or another relevant discipline

  • Proven experience in Project Management within EPC, energy, renewable energy or major infrastructure projects

  • Strong understanding of the interaction between engineering, procurement, construction, contracts, cost and schedule

  • Experience managing complex projects with multiple internal and external interfaces

  • Strong commercial awareness and confidence working with budgets, forecasts, variations, contractual requirements and project risks

  • Confident client-facing communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills

  • Structured, accountable and proactive approach, with the ability to maintain control of multiple priorities

  • Previous experience in BESS, renewable energy, substations or complex electrical infrastructure will be considered a strong advantage

  • Ability to understand site realities while maintaining focus on overall project performance rather than day-to-day construction supervision

  • Interest in long-term involvement and professional growth within a rapidly expanding energy-storage portfolio

Why Join KIEFER TEK

  • Take ownership of strategic utility-scale BESS projects shaping the future of energy in Greece

  • Head-office–based role with selective travel and meaningful project visibility

  • Real accountability across scope, schedule, cost, contract and client — not simply task execution

  • Work across the full EPC lifecycle, from engineering and procurement through construction and commissioning

  • Direct exposure to clients, senior management and key project stakeholders

  • Work with advanced energy-storage technologies and large-scale energy infrastructure

  • Join a growing BESS portfolio with opportunities for increased responsibility and long-term career development

  • Competitive compensation package aligned with experience and level of responsibility
