Location: City of London (3 days onsite per week)
Salary/Rate: £70,000-£90,000, depending on experience
Start Date: Immediate Start
Job Type: Initial 6 months, with potential for extension

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager to take ownership of a major network and technology change programme within a complex enterprise environment.

The role will focus on the delivery of an F5 load balancing initiative, reviewing and improving existing configurations, and coordinating the integration of office technology following an organisational merger.

You will work across technical teams, business stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure delivery stays on track, risks are managed effectively, and essential services remain stable throughout implementation. This is a hands-on delivery role requiring strong project leadership and the ability to turn complex technical requirements into clear plans and measurable outcomes.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

  • Own the end-to-end project lifecycle, from initial discovery and planning through implementation, testing and operational handover.
  • Lead the delivery of F5 load balancing changes, coordinating technical design, implementation schedules, testing and cutover.
  • Oversee reviews of existing F5 BIG-IP environments, ensuring configuration issues are identified and translated into actionable improvement plans.
  • Manage the integration of office-based technology and supporting systems following a merger or business restructure.
  • Coordinate infrastructure, networking, cyber security, architecture and service management teams to keep interconnected workstreams aligned.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, resource requirements, RAID logs, dependency trackers and progress reports.
  • Proactively manage risks, issues and technical dependencies, with a strong focus on service availability and business continuity.
  • Manage third-party suppliers, setting clear expectations around deliverables, timelines and acceptance criteria.
  • Coordinate testing, release planning, cutover arrangements and transition into business-as-usual operations.
  • Provide concise updates to senior stakeholders, highlighting progress, potential impacts, decisions required and any corrective actions.
  • Drive accountability across all parties, ensuring issues are escalated early and resolved without unnecessary delays.

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • A strong track record delivering infrastructure or network-focused projects within large, complex technology environments.
  • Practical project delivery experience involving F5 BIG-IP, load balancing or comparable application delivery technologies.
  • Experience overseeing infrastructure configuration reviews, technical remediation and service optimisation.
  • A background in technology integration following a merger, acquisition or wider organisational transformation.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, governance, risk management, dependency tracking and stakeholder reporting.
  • The ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders, technical architects, engineers, operational teams and external suppliers.
  • A broad understanding of infrastructure dependencies across networking, security, identity, end-user technology, applications and service operations.
  • Experience managing testing, implementation, cutover and service transition while minimising disruption to business operations.
  • The confidence to manage several workstreams simultaneously in a fast-moving environment.
  • A proactive, organised and pragmatic approach, with a focus on resolving problems and keeping delivery moving forward.

Desirable Skills/Experience
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:

  • Previous experience within the legal sector or wider professional services.
  • Experience working in a consultancy or client-facing delivery environment.
  • Relevant project management or technical qualifications, such as PRINCE2, APM, PMP or ITIL.
  • F5-related technical accreditation or certification.
