The Project Manager leads and supports the execution of capital projects within power generation facilities. This role is responsible for managing projects from development through commissioning while ensuring safety, environmental compliance, budget, schedule, and quality objectives are achieved. The ideal candidate has experience with major power plant equipment, including turbines, generators, pumps, motors, electrical and instrumentation systems, control systems, and balance-of-plant equipment. This position requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, contract management, and the ability to oversee multiple projects in active industrial environments.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute capital projects with safety and environmental compliance as the highest priority.
  • Manage all phases of capital projects, including planning, scope development, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover to operations.
  • Support project development activities, including site development and environmental permitting.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and cost forecasts.
  • Monitor project financial performance and make decisions to meet approved financial goals.
  • Manage engineering, equipment, construction, and EPC contracts.
  • Oversee contractor performance and commercial aspects of assigned projects.
  • Utilize the Project Management Tollgate process to manage project execution.
  • Complete all project-related administrative requirements.
  • Coordinate engineering, construction, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Resolve technical issues and implement project changes as necessary.
  • Represent the project and company during meetings and public forums when required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum high school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Construction Management preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction, engineering, or industrial project environments.
  • At least 3 years of project management experience leading capital projects.
  • Experience with power generation facilities and major plant equipment, including turbines, generators, pumps, motors, control systems, electrical/instrumentation systems, and balance-of-plant equipment.
  • Working knowledge of construction practices, commissioning, and plant operations.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements, including scaffolding standards and industrial safety practices.
  • Experience developing and managing project budgets, schedules, and cost forecasts.
  • Strong contract administration and contractor management experience.
  • Excellent leadership, organization, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Work Environment
  • Ability to work in industrial power plant environments.
  • Must be able to meet field requirements, including confined space entry, climbing stairs and ladders, and wearing required personal protective equipment, including a respirator.
