About the role
The Project Manager is responsible for supporting the Program Manager and overall Portfolio with the execution and delivery of day to day operational activities for allocated Projects. The role executes the directed scope within the framework provided and escalates risks and issues to delivery accordingly.
There is a preference for the candidate to be based in the Canberra office, although other locations may be considered.
Candidate must hold a current AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance.
12 month contract with 2 x 12 month extension options.
Key responsibilities
Lead and facilitate the planning and implementation of the assigned project deliverables
Allocate project resources to execute deliverables as required
Manage day-to-day activities as aligned with the project scope and deliverables
Monitor and report on project progress and escalate risks and issues where required to ensure full transparency
Facilitate and ensure adequate stakeholder engagement is being delivered across project deliverables
Develop project documentation and reports to the required standard
Manage project governance as required
Manage project scheduling and budget maintenance
Liaise with and maintain key internal and external relationships, including liaising with stakeholders on policy, project or operational issues and action items
Make and communicate decisions using good judgement, expertise and knowledge, governed by legislation, regulations, best practice principles or relevant operating instructions and procedures
About you
Demonstrated minimum 5-year experience in managing projects
Strong understanding of how to deliver projects using multiple different tools and methodologies as required
Proactive and extremely competent in delivering high quality written communication autonomously
Willingness to work within a team that places a core emphasis on culture and is highly collaborative
Knowledge and experience in successfully setting priorities and delivering quality results on time and on budget
Proven ability to communicate effectively whilst anticipating stakeholder needs and expectations across a geographically dispersed network
Active AGSVA Baseline Security clearance and ability to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 AGSVA Clearance
