Techno-Functional Consultant – AI Solutions (BFSI)

Tokyo, Japan | Bilingual: English & Japanese

LatentBridge is looking for a Techno-Functional Consultant to support our BFSI client engagements in Tokyo. This role sits at the intersection of technology and business – roughly 60–70% hands-on technical depth combined with 30–40% functional and stakeholder-facing responsibility. You will work directly with client stakeholders in the banking and financial services domain, translate business needs into AI-driven technical solutions, and act as the connective link between the client and our internal delivery teams.

This is a client-facing, solution-oriented role. You will lead discussions with client stakeholders, understand their requirements, collaborate with internal engineering/AI teams to shape a solution, and take that solution back to the client – owning the conversation end to end.

• Serve as the primary techno-functional point of contact for BFSI client engagements in Tokyo.

• Lead and manage client-facing discussions to understand business requirements, pain points, and technical constraints.

• Translate business/functional requirements into practical, AI-driven technical solutions.

• Partner with internal technical and AI delivery teams to design, validate, and refine proposed solutions.

• Present and articulate technical solutions back to client stakeholders in clear, business-friendly language.

• Own stakeholder management across client and internal teams, ensuring alignment throughout the solution lifecycle.

• Provide hands-on input on AI solution design, feasibility, and implementation approach.

• Bridge communication between technical teams and business/banking stakeholders, in both English and Japanese.

• Support pre-sales/solutioning conversations as needed, bringing technical credibility to client discussions.

• Proven experience working within the Banking / Financial Services / Insurance (BFSI) domain.

• Strong hands-on technical background (60–70% of the role), with the ability to engage in and drive technical solution discussions.

• Demonstrated experience delivering AI-based solutions – this is the single most important skill area for this role.

• Prior experience in a techno-functional or solutions consulting capacity, ideally having transitioned from a purely technical role into one with client/stakeholder responsibility.

• Current or recent experience in stakeholder management, ideally with banks or financial institutions as clients.

• Ability to independently manage client conversations – from requirement gathering through to solution presentation.

• Comfortable working cross-functionally with internal technical/delivery teams to shape solutions.

• Excellent communication skills, with fluency in both English and Japanese (spoken and written).

• Based in Tokyo, Japan, and available to engage with local client stakeholders.

• Experience consulting for or embedded within a bank or large financial institution.

• Familiarity with enterprise AI solutioning – use-case identification, feasibility assessment, and solution architecture at a conceptual level.

• Comfort operating in a consultative, client-advisory capacity rather than a pure delivery role.

• Prior exposure to global/cross-border delivery teams collaborating across time zones.

• Location: Tokyo, Japan – candidate must be locally based.

• Engagement Type: Open to both Full-Time and Part-Time arrangements.
