Position Overview

GridTech Power is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Project Manager to lead and oversee construction management activities for Power Substations, Switchyards, and Battery Energy Storage Facilities nationwide. This is an exciting opportunity for a construction professional to take ownership of impactful projects while growing within a dynamic and supportive organization.

Role Summary

The Project Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple simultaneous projects, ensuring alignment with GridTech's standards in safety, quality, schedule, and budget. This role requires a hands-on professional who thrives in both office and field environments and can effectively manage contracts, procurement, subcontractors, and client relationships from project initiation through closeout.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

  • Partner with the Safety Manager to enforce and uphold GridTech's safety policies and procedures on all active projects
  • Ensure all projects are implemented in accordance with GridTech guidelines, client contracts, and applicable local and federal regulations

Client & Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as a primary representative of GridTech, maintaining constant coordination and professional communication with client Project Managers and third parties
  • Interface with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution
  • Assist in the preparation and review of project proposals

Procurement & Material Management

  • Oversee procurement of equipment and materials required for project execution
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials
  • Manage tracking and accountability of materials, tools, and equipment across all active projects

Scheduling & Planning

  • Develop, maintain, and track project schedules across multiple simultaneous projects
  • Verify constructability, ensure proper resource allocations, and proactively resolve field issues
  • Review and monitor budget, schedule, quality, risk trackers, and contingency allocations

Change & Contract Management

  • Identify, track, and communicate all contract changes back to client Project Managers
  • Manage subcontract administration and project closeout activities
  • Supervise and coordinate cross-functional activities including safety programs, engineering, construction, budget management, and scheduling

Reporting

  • Provide accurate and timely daily, weekly, and monthly construction progress reports to internal and external stakeholders

General

  • Perform routine project management tasks including craft onboarding and management
  • Travel to new projects, between project sites, or to meetings as required — sometimes on short notice
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Preferred Background

We welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds, including:

College graduates with a degree emphasis in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business who are eager to build a career in construction and project management

  • Experienced field professionals with hands-on experience in the construction of Substations, Switchyards, BESS yards, or general construction who are ready to take the next step beyond the Foreman or Superintendent level

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License with the ability to drive throughout the United States
  • Ability to fly throughout the continental U.S. as needed
  • Strong communication skills — written and verbal — with clients, team members, and third parties
  • Excellent organization and multi-tasking abilities across multiple active projects
  • Strong coordination and logistics capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite — Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Solid understanding of scheduling and project planning principles
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of typical construction means and methods
  • Familiarity with Construction/Project Management best practices and methodologies
  • Experience managing direct-hire craft labor
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills

Working Environment & Physical Requirements

This role involves working in active construction environments. Candidates must be able to:

  • Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, and walk long distances on uneven and confined terrain
  • See and hear naturally or with correction
  • Work in extreme temperatures and varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, dust)
  • Perform duties in bright or low-lighting conditions
  • Work in environments with elevated noise levels
  • Perform repetitive hand movements and operate tools and controls as required
  • Maintain full range of motion consistent with job duty requirements
