Project Manager - Product Development

Position Overview

  • Lead the development and launch of new and custom cabin models from initial concept through prototype construction and handoff to production. This role coordinates design, materials, vendors, documentation, prototyping, and product launch while keeping projects organized, moving forward, and on schedule.
  • Work directly with large customers to understand their needs and coordinate the development of custom products.
  • Lead periodic “model year” updates to existing cabin models and support ongoing product improvement and R&D initiatives.

What Success Looks Like

The primary deliverable for each project is a market-ready cabin design with complete production-ready documentation, an established supply chain, a completed prototype, and a successful handoff to Sales and Production.

Key Responsibilities

  1. New Product Selection – Collaborate with leadership and key stakeholders to establish the product concept, objectives, and requirements.
  2. Design – Coordinate concept drawings, final renderings, and production-ready blueprints.
  3. Materials & Vendors – Coordinate the selection of materials, components, and suppliers.
  4. Initial Marketing – Provide Marketing with initial renderings, product narrative, and pricing information.
  5. Prototype Construction – Collaborate with the Production Manager to coordinate prototype construction and resolve design or production issues.
  6. Final Documentation & ERP Integration – Coordinate with technical team members to complete production documentation, BOMs, and other product-specific information.
  7. Product Launch – Release the finished product to Sales and complete the handoff to Production.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of project management principles and processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and advance multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, vendors, production teams, and technical professionals.
  • Experience in residential construction, building design, product development, or a closely related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and the ability to learn project and task management software.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar design software is preferred.
  • Strong alignment with the values of Lancaster Cabins.
  • This is a full on-site position in Gap, PA. Candidates must be able to reliably report to this location by their agree-upon start date. Relocation assistance is not provided.
