Project Manager Team Lead

Bastian Automation, a division of Toyota Automated Logistics, is seeking a Project Manager Team Lead to join our Autonomous Vehicle Division in Georgetown, KY.

Job Overview

This individual will lead a team of Project Managers while overseeing AGV and automation projects from initiation through completion. Responsible for team performance, project delivery, customer satisfaction, financial oversight, resource planning, and continuous improvement of project management standards.

Job Functions

• Lead a team of Project Managers to ensure successful execution of AGV and automation projects throughout the project lifecycle.

• Mentor team members by resolving issues, providing coaching and feedback, and escalating blockers when necessary.

• Act as the first point of escalation and provide backup coverage when team members are unavailable.

• Monitor all project financials and ensure projects align with profitability objectives.

• Create, implement, and improve Project Management standards and best practices for BAV.

• Assign projects based on workload, complexity, and required skillsets.

• Coordinate with Scheduling Coordinators and Resource Managers to ensure proper resource allocation.

• Approve time off requests, timecards, and expense reports.

• Conduct weekly one-on-ones, quarterly touchpoints, and annual performance reviews.

• Serve as primary customer contact and provide regular project status updates.

• Create and maintain project schedules and manage project risks.

Travel Requirements:

• 25% overnight travel (Travel expenses paid by Bastian Automation)
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a passport

Required Qualifications and Preferred Skills:

• Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of project management experience in automation, material handling, manufacturing, or a related industry.
• 2+ years of leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, resources, and customer relationships.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• PMP certification or equivalent project management certification or experience preferred.
• Experience with AGV/AMR systems, automation, controls, or material handling solutions preferred.
• Experience leading multiple project managers in a matrix organization.
• Knowledge of ERP, project scheduling, and resource planning systems.
• Employees must follow all information security policies, protect confidential data, complete required training, and report any suspected security incidents to support our information security controls
