Project Manager (TRAILS Modernisation)
Summary
Contract Project Manager (to 28/06/2030, hybrid in Brisbane) leading a multi-year Queensland Government digital transformation (TRAILS) that modernises legacy systems. Day-to-day: planning and governance under PRINCE2 and Agile, stakeholder management, budget/schedule tracking with tools like MS Project, Jira and Confluence.
Salary: No contractor fees / two pay runs per week
Contract to 28/06/2030 plus up to 5 years extension | Brisbane, QLD | Hybrid working
Lime Recruitment is currently working with a large Queensland Government client to recruit an experienced Project Manager. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of a major multi-year digital transformation project within a PRINCE2 and Agile environment, modernising core legacy systems and supporting improved service delivery outcomes across Queensland.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and lead project activities and resources from Start Up through to Completion to deliver outcomes within agreed scope, schedule, quality, and budget baselines.
Produce high-quality project documentation in accordance with departmental governance policies within an Agile and PRINCE2 framework.
Ensure appropriate project governance and assurance activities are established and maintained, coordinating work requirements across program domain streams.
Develop and implement communication plans, organisational change management plans, and benefit realisation plans where required.
Liaise closely with key project stakeholders, including Project Executives, Project Board Members, Senior Users, Senior Suppliers, Product Owners, and executive management.
Lead and manage project working groups, providing clear direction, decision-making, and ongoing support for delivery teams.
Monitor and manage project budgets, resource allocations, and financial performance.
Develop, maintain, and track detailed project schedules using tools such as Microsoft Project or Jira/Confluence.
About You
PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification is mandatory.
Demonstrated experience delivering outcomes for complex technology transformation programs, including large-scale modernisation initiatives migrating from legacy systems to contemporary platforms.
Proven track record leading delivery teams throughout all phases of the project lifecycle in highly complex, regulated, or government environments.
Experience or qualifications in Agile and new ways of working (e.g., Scrum Master Certification).
Proficiency with project management and delivery tools such as Microsoft Project, Atlassian Jira, and Confluence.
Current and varied project management experience across the public and private sectors.
Strong stakeholder management, leadership, negotiation, and communication skills across executive, technical, and operational teams.
