Project Planner
Functional roles and responsibilities
• Prepare the work programs specifying time required to complete each process of construction such as material procurement, mobilization, installation, manpower requirement, etc.
• Prepare master project schedule and plans during tender and program to the construction manager/project execution team and clients (where required) for review and approval.
• Monitor closely each process of the project in coordination with the construction manager/planning engineer to ensure that the plan is being followed properly and the work is proceeding as per the programme. Prepare reports on progress and causes of programme/progress variations.
• Attend monthly project review meetings with consultant/project management representative, prepare and submit report to management as required. Also review monthly progress report for all the projects based on site visit and project progress review.
• Prepare project progress report for the perusal of the management highlighting the achievement against program and in case of a delay investigate the cause and suggest corrective action to redeem the situation.
• Coordination with design department and procurement department to manage timely submissions and material lead times ensuring smooth project progress.
• Tracking of long lead materials both from ATS purchase department and subcontractors.
• Providing monthly progress update to the respective QS to help in preparing monthly progress/variation invoices.
• Preparation of critical path analysis and impact program in assessment of extension of time (EOT).
• Prepare labour monitoring reports for turnkey and joinery department on budget vs actual for each project and report deviation on labour cost.
Education, certification and continued education
• Diploma or degree in civil engineering with good working knowledge of Primavera/MS Projects is essential.
Years of experience
Minimum 4 years planning experience in fit out/joinery.
Knowledge and skills
• MS Project or Primavera.
• Good knowledge of construction business gained through formal training or minimum 2-4 years of experience in construction; experience in fit out preferred.
• Good knowledge of construction processes.
• Attention to detail and concern for time.
