Purchasing Assistant (Japanese Speaking)

Responsibilities

• Translate Japanese product labels, specifications, and related documents into English.
• Maintain and update product master data, purchasing records, and product information databases.
• Verify product details, including ingredients, nutritional information, packaging specifications, and other product-related information.
• Assist in reviewing regulatory requirements and compliance documentation for food products.
• Prepare, maintain, and organise import and export documentation.
• Coordinate with overseas offices, suppliers, and internal stakeholders regarding product information and documentation.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and related documentation.
• Provide administrative and operational support to the Purchasing team.

Requirements

• Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Food Science, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in Japanese is required to liaise effectively with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders, and to read and understand Japanese documents and product labels in support of job-related duties.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, and basic formula functions.
• Previous administrative experience is preferred.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in the food industry, trading, or import/export operations is an added advantage.
