Purchasing Specialist
Primary Duties & Responsibilitie
Procurement & Purchasing Operations
- Source and purchase refinery materials, industrial equipment, spare parts, chemicals, and operational services.
- Process Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and generate Purchase Orders (POs) accurately and efficiently.
- Obtain supplier quotations and conduct price, quality, and delivery evaluations.
- Coordinate procurement of:
- Industrial chemicals
- Pumps, valves, and piping materials
- Electrical and instrumentation components
- Mechanical spare parts
- Safety equipment and PPE
- Maintenance consumables
- Production and operational supplies
- Ensure timely delivery of purchased materials to support continuous refinery operations and maintenance schedules.

Monitor order status and follow up with suppliers regarding delivery commitments.
Supplier Coordination & Vendor Management
- Communicate and coordinate with local and international suppliers regarding quotations, orders, deliveries, and technical requirements.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with suppliers and contractors.
- Assist in supplier accreditation, evaluation, and performance monitoring.
- Resolve supplier issues related to delivery delays, material discrepancies, quality concerns, and documentation.

Support supplier negotiations on pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
Inventory & Material Coordination
- Coordinate with Warehouse and Inventory teams to monitor stock levels and material requirements.
- Support inventory replenishment planning to avoid shortages and overstocking.
- Monitor critical spare parts and operational materials for refinery maintenance and production activities.
- Assist in material forecasting and procurement scheduling.
ERP / MRP / Systems Management
- Utilize Oracle, SAP, MRP, and ERP systems for procurement transactions, inventory monitoring, and reporting.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier files, and purchasing documentation.
- Generate procurement reports, delivery tracking reports, and purchasing analytics.
- Ensure proper and accurate system entries for procurement transactions.
Cost Control & Procurement Efficiency
- Support cost-saving initiatives through supplier sourcing, price comparison, and negotiation.
- Conduct market research and supplier benchmarking activities.
- Assist in identifying procurement process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Monitor procurement lead times and supplier performance.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

Working Conditions
- Office-based with regular visits to refinery plant and warehouse areas.
