Python developer

Open 16d

Summary

Build and maintain two FastAPI microservices that use ML, computer vision, and event-driven processing to price used vehicles and enrich listing data for an online automotive trading platform.

About the role

You'll own and evolve two of eCarsTrade's core Python microservices that turn raw vehicle data into commercial decisions:
  • MarketPrice — an ML-driven pricing engine that predicts market value for used vehicles and produces bid recommendations (dealer bid, supplier bid, potential dealer margin and turnover time) used across the auction platform.
  • DataEnrichment — detects vehicle options, sport packages and verifies listing metadata.
Both are async FastAPI services, message-driven via RabbitMQ, and containerized with Docker. You'll work across ML pipelines, computer vision, LLM integrations, and high-throughput event processing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain FastAPI services (API routers, Pydantic schemas, middleware, exception handling) and their RabbitMQ consumers (aio_pika, topic exchanges, durable queues, DLQ, circuit breakers).
  • Design durable, decoupled processing flows (e.g. ack-on-aggregation, MongoDB-backed per-car state, thread-pooled blocking work under async consumers).
  • Write tests, maintain Docker/docker-compose setups, and keep services production-reliable and observable.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and platform teams to translate business rules into robust code.

Requirements

  • Strong Python 3.10+ with production experience in async programming (asyncio) and FastAPI (or similar).
  • Solid experience with message queues, ideally RabbitMQ (aio_pika), and event-driven architectures.
  • Comfortable with Docker and microservice deployment patterns.
  • Working knowledge of relational (MySQL) and/or document stores (MongoDB).
  • Clean code, testing discipline, and Git-based collaboration.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a passion for writing clean, efficient code.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on schedule and within budget.
  • Experience with CI/CD principles and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
  • Leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and motivate team members, drive technical initiatives, and lead by example.
  • Proficiency in both English and Russian is mandatory.

Benefits

  • Full remote position under a B2B contract
  • Multicultural, dynamic international team
  • Competitive salary
  • Fast-growing company with startup spirit and growth opportunities
  • Chance to shape the future of digital automotive trading
