QA Automation Engineer | Playwright (can start ASAP)

About the role:
NCS Philippines is seeking a QA Automation Engineer specialising in Playwright to join our dynamic quality assurance team. This is a full-time position based in Taguig City, Metro Manila. As a QA Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through the design, development and execution of automated test frameworks. Your expertise in Playwright and test automation will be instrumental in delivering robust solutions that meet our stringent quality standards and support our continuous integration and deployment pipelines.

Key responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright for web and cross-browser testing

• Create and execute comprehensive test cases and test suites to identify defects and ensure product quality

• Develop and implement test automation frameworks that support scalability, reusability and maintainability

• Collaborate with software developers and business analysts to understand requirements and translate them into effective automated tests

• Perform regression testing, integration testing and end-to-end testing across multiple browsers and platforms

• Document test results, defects and issues in a clear and detailed manner, working with development teams to resolve identified problems

• Continuously improve testing processes and automation strategies to enhance efficiency and coverage

• Participate in code reviews and share best practices with team members

• Support the implementation of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines

• Investigate and troubleshoot test failures and provide root cause analysis

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience with Playwright framework for test automation, including hands-on development of automated test scripts

• Strong proficiency in at least one programming language such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python or Java

• In-depth knowledge of web application testing methodologies, including functional, regression and end-to-end testing

• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, and familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions or similar platforms

• Solid understanding of software testing principles, QA best practices and quality assurance lifecycle (QALC)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

• Experience with testing across multiple browsers and devices to ensure cross-platform compatibility

• Knowledge of API testing and familiarity with tools such as Postman or REST Assured is advantageous

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

• Preferred: Experience with performance testing, load testing or security testing would be valued

• Preferred: Familiarity with agile development methodologies and sprint-based testing cycles
