Salary: £70,000 - 75,000 per year
Requirements:- Senior QA Automation Engineer / SDET experience with AWS test environments.
- AWS Console experience is essential, including navigating AWS and supporting automation/testing environments.
- Experience with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, EC2, and CloudWatch in test environments.
- Experience with test automation frameworks such as Cypress or Playwright.
- Strong scripting skills in JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Experience with Gherkin and setting up and maintaining automation infrastructure.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
- Experience designing and executing API tests using Postman, Playwright, or Cypress.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, including request/response, status codes, and authentication.
- Knowledge of software testing principles and methodologies, including SDLC, STLC, Agile, and testing types such as functional, regression, integration, unit, and system testing.
- Proficiency in test case design, execution, defect identification, and fix verification.
- Experience working in Agile teams such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Ability to collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other team members to clarify requirements and support iterative delivery.
- SQL expertise for validating data and back-end testing, including writing complex queries for functional and integration testing.
- Experience with defect management, including tracking, prioritizing, reporting bugs, and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with GitHub for version control and Jira for collaboration.
- Exposure to performance or security testing tools such as JMeter is advantageous.
- SC Clearance is strongly desirable.
- Work as a Senior QA Automation Engineer / SDET supporting AWS test environments.
- Navigate AWS and support automation and testing environments.
- Build, maintain, and execute automated tests using Cypress or Playwright.
- Develop scripts in JavaScript and TypeScript and use Gherkin where appropriate.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Design and run API tests and validate RESTful API behaviour.
- Create and execute test cases, identify defects, and verify fixes.
- Perform SQL-based validation and back-end testing.
- Track, prioritise, and report bugs, including root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and other team members in an Agile environment.
- Promote quality standards and contribute to a culture of quality across teams.

We are a leading global IT transformation business specialising in delivering large-scale Government digital modernisation projects. This is a permanent QA Test Engineer role based in Leeds with hybrid working, including 2 days per week remote and 3 days per week on-site. The salary is £70,000 to £75,000 depending on experience, with additional benefits including a 10% bonus, pension, death in service, health care plan, and more.
