QA Engineer

Summary

QA Engineer designs and maintains automated tests for a React-based web front-end, occasionally tests a cross-platform mobile SDK, and contributes to CI/CD pipelines.

The Mission
Wallee Group is a leader in advanced payment solutions, dedicated to providing robust, scalable, and secure systems across multiple domains. We enhance customer experiences through innovative payment and finance technology that empowers businesses to grow efficiently. With operations spanning several countries, we thrive on collaboration and agility, utilizing the Scrum framework to drive our international teams. At Wallee, we stay at the forefront of market trends, continuously innovating to deliver premier services to our global customers.

The Role
QA Engineer to own test strategy and automation for a React-based web front-end. The role will also involve occasional manual testing of a cross-platform mobile SDK (Android & iOS), with mobile test automation as a possible future direction — but the primary focus is web.

Core Responsibilities
Design, write, and maintain automated test suites for the React front-end (unit, integration, and end-to-end tests)
Read and understand React component code well enough to test it effectively (props, state, hooks, component structure) and write targeted tests, not just black-box UI scripts
Build and maintain CI/CD test pipelines so automated tests run on every PR/build
Define and grow test coverage strategy and quality gates for the web app
Investigate, document, and file clear, reproducible bug reports; work with engineers to triage and verify fixes
Contribute to test plans and acceptance criteria during feature planning
Occasionally perform manual testing of the mobile SDK (Android & iOS) — functional and regression testing across devices/OS versions
(Roadmap, longer-term) Help evaluate and potentially build automated testing for the mobile SDK

Requirements
What You Bring to the Table
3+ years in a QA Engineer role, with hands-on test automation experience
Ability to read and understand React code — components, hooks, state/props flow — well enough to reason about what needs testing
Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript
Proficiency with a modern JS/TS test automation framework (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Jest, React Testing Library)
Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins)
Strong bug reporting and communication skills — able to write clear repro steps

Nice to Have
Experience manually testing mobile apps on real devices/simulators (iOS and/or Android)
Experience testing native or cross-platform SDKs
Familiarity with Android (Kotlin/Java) and/or iOS (Swift) enough to read stack traces or sample integration code
Experience setting up mobile test automation (e.g., Appium, XCUITest, Espresso)
API/backend testing experience (e.g., Postman, REST-assured)
Performance or accessibility testing experience
Soft Skills / Team Fit
Comfortable working closely with front-end engineers in a small/cross-functional team
Self-directed — able to prioritize deep automation work while occasionally context-switching to manual mobile test cycles
Detail-oriented
