QA Executive (Halal & Food Safety)

Department: Quality Assurance
Reports To: Assistant Manager, QA

Job Purpose

To support the company's food safety, quality assurance, and Halal management systems, ensuring compliance with MUIS Halal Certification Conditions, food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. The role will also serve as the appointed Halal Assurance Officer(HAO) for the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the company's Halal Assurance Officer and maintain compliance with MUIS Halal requirements.
• Verify Halal status of ingredients, raw materials, and suppliers.
• Maintain Halal documentation, records, and ingredient approval systems.
• Monitor Halal Assurance Points (HAPs) and support internal and external Halal audits.
• Support HACCP, GMP, and Food Safety Management System implementation and verification.
• Assist in certification audits (Halal, HACCP, BRCGS, customer audits, etc.).
• Investigate quality and food safety issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct food safety and Halal awareness training for employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the superior.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Quality Assurance, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, food safety, or Halal assurance.
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety systems.
• Good documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Muslim candidate preferred, able to fulfil the Halal Assurance Officer role and obtain/maintain MUIS Halal Competency Assessment (HCA) certification
