QA Inspector A- Shift (Days)
Summary
Performs routine receiving, in-process, and final inspections of production parts on the day shift at an automotive manufacturing plant. Day-to-day work includes instrument checks and calibration support, sample labeling and storage, reporting non-conforming material, and contributing to safety, 5S, internal audits, and other continuous-improvement activities.

Essential Responsibility:
· This position is responsible for performing routine receiving, in-process and final inspection on production parts.
List of Key Tasks / Primary Responsibilities:
· Ensures Quality and Efficiency of Inspections by performing instrument checks, and assisting with calibrations; by submitting appropriate information to Supervisor or Manager on non-conforming or unusual-characteristic material; by maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies; by communicating with personnel in all departments to ensure quality and efficient flow of production; by assisting with assignment of inspection duties, and arranging for coverage when absences are necessary; and by performing additional duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
· Maintains Samples by properly labeling and storing retention samples and following proper disposal procedures for other tested samples.
· Enforces and Improves Policies and Procedures by training new employees, and assisting in the implementation of new procedures and tests; and by participating in departmental and committee safety meetings, and in other activities which will improve safety and prevent accidents and injuries.
· Improves Processes by participating in internal auditing, 5S improvement, employee suggestion processes, and other continuous improvement activities.
· Manages Time and Resources by using tools provided by the Company in order to maximize productivity and to accomplish tasks on time.
· Keeps Management Informed by participating in meetings; and by reporting problems to Management verbally or in writing in order to avoid confusion and further problems.
· Follows work standards, company systems like CPI, inspection standards, hold tag system, inspection login database & any other required system.
· Upholds Standards of Quality, Cost, and Safety by following the Company's standards and guidelines for maintaining quality, cost, and safety; by taking initiative to make these points top priority at the Company; by immediately reporting any conditions that do not uphold the standards of quality, cost, and safety to the Supervisor or Management; and by making suggestions for necessary improvements to uphold these standards as necessary.
· Contributes to the Team Effort by consistently achieving individual goals in order to contribute to the achievement of departmental and Company goals; by being flexible in work assignments; by covering for other Staff as needed; by accomplishing related tasks when requested; by being open to feedback from peers, Supervisors, and Management; and by using the feedback to improve performance.
