QA/QC & Commissioning Engineer (Data Center, ICT/ELV)

Salary: RM 4,500 – RM 6,000 per month

Project Site: Port Dickson

Job Summary:

The QA/QC & Commissioning Engineer responsible for QA/QC & Cx of IT infrastructure data center projects, ensuring all works comply with approved drawings and standards. Oversee the full process from planning, material approval, installation, testing, commissioning, NCR rectification, final inspection, to handover.

Job Description:

1. Quality Planning

• Review contract specifications, drawings, client requirements, and technical standards

• Prepare QA/QC procedures, method statements, Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), and testing requirements

• Establish quality standards, acceptance criteria, and inspection procedures

2. Material Inspection & Approval

• Review material submittals, datasheets, and vendor documentation

• Verify approved materials before delivery to site

• Inspect incoming materials such as fiber cables, network equipment, ELV devices, racks, and containment systems

• Ensure materials comply with project specifications and industry standards

3. Installation Inspection

• Monitor ICT, fiber optic, structured cabling, and ELV installation works

• Conduct inspections during installation works

• Verify workmanship, routing, labeling, containment, grounding, termination, patching, and installation quality

• Ensure work follows approved drawings, standards, and method statements

4. Testing & Commissioning

• CxL1 (FAT): Verify IT/network equipment is factory tested and compliant before shipment

• CxL2 (Installation & Readiness): Confirm proper installation of IT infrastructure and readiness for testing

• CxL3 (Functional Test): Test individual systems for full functionality before witnessing

• CxL4 (IST): Witness integrated system testing with contractor and consultant under operational scenarios

• CxL5 (SAT): Final client acceptance confirming full system readiness and handover

5. Non-Conformance & Corrective Action

• Identify defects and raise NCRs

• Coordinate corrective actions with contractors/vendors

• Re-inspect works to ensure closure

6. Documentation & Coordination

• Liaise with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and site teams

• Attend coordination meetings and discussions

• Prepare & maintain QA/QC & Cx documents (checklists, reports, ITPs, NCRs, as-built)

• Ensure documentation completion for handover and project closeout

Requirement:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, IT, or related field

• 2–5 years of experience in QA/QC & Cx for ICT, ELV, fiber optic, or structured cabling works.

• Experience in preparing QA/QC & Cx documentation

• Familiar with commissioning process

• Experience in data center projects is highly preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret IT drawings (cabling layouts, rack layouts, network diagrams)

• Good coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Able to work in fast-paced construction site environment

• Fast learner and adapt to new tasks and environments
