QA Test Engineer (Android / Lab-Based)

Key Responsibilities

  • Manual & Compatibility Testing: Test across multiple devices, OS versions, and form factors simultaneously to ensure compatibility and a seamless user experience.
  • Bug Lifecycle Management: Identify, document, and track software bugs and issues from discovery to resolution using bug tracking systems. Provide clear, concise steps to reproduce and attach relevant logs.
  • Device Provisioning: Manage lab hardware, including hands-on experience with flashing Android devices
  • Multi-Project Execution: Demonstrate the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, pivoting between different OS and hardware priorities effectively.
  • Technical Collaboration: Use your strong communication skills to act as the bridge between the lab, development team, and partner engineering teams to clearly explain bugs and technical findings.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Android Ecosystem: Comprehensive knowledge of the Android ecosystem, OEM variations, and diverse hardware form factors.
  • Command Line Tools: Well-versed in ADB (Android Debug Bridge) and Linux/Unix commands to inspect device states, push/pull files, and extract system logs (logcat) for debugging.
  • Flashing Experience: Direct, hands-on experience flashing Android devices using vendor-specific tools.
  • Bug Tracking Systems: Proven experience using bug tracking software to write highly detailed, actionable bug reports.
  • Onsite Lab Presence: Comfortable working onsite 5 days a week (Monday - Friday) in a lab environment, physically handling, organizing, and transporting mobile devices between storage locations as needed.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the organizational ability to balance multiple projects at once.
