Barn2Door is seeking a QA Manager and hands-on SDET to manage exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality. You will design and implement tests, debug and define corrective actions, review system requirements, and track quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts. As a QA Engineer, you will monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards.
Responsibilities will include:
- Build and scale quality systems including automation frameworks and testing strategy, helping teams ship faster with confidence
- Prepare detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
- Assist the development team in adopting a Test Driven Development approach
- Plan and coordinate testing activities, thoroughly identifying and documenting bugs
- Work closely with engineers and product teams to identify system requirements, improve testability, and create a strong quality culture
- Track quality assurance metrics, such as defect densities and open defect counts
- Improve automation architecture and implement AI-driven solutions to increase testing efficiency and coverage
- Analyze causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
- Maintain relevant knowledge about new testing tools and test strategies
- Use AI to analyze defects, identify testing gaps, and improve regression strategies

You have:
- 4+ years of experience in an SDET or QA Engineer position
- Solid understanding of JavaScript testing frameworks, Agile/Scrum development principles, SQL, and scripting
- Significant experience working in software development teams and using software QA methodologies and tools
- Experience writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
- Experience with both white box and black box testing
- Experience with performance and security testing
- Experience with test automation, API testing, CI/CD integration, and AI-driven QA improvements

- Annual salary DOE plus stock options
