QC Inspector - Civil

General Characteristics (Job Summary)

• Perform quality activities in accordance with quality management system established.
• Establish inspection and test plans and its record forms as per project requirements and international codes and standards.
• Carry out inspections on discipline responsible to determine whether work performed conforms to quality requirements, and recording its result.
• Ensure inspection status is controlled through efficient tools such as inspection matrix.
• Supervise, Inspect and support Construction to proceed related activities concerning the progress in accordance with project specification.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Managing and performing inspection of Civil discipline.
• Generate client Requests For Inspection (RFI) where required providing sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points.
• Prepare / Review the following Quality procedure documents submitted by the Subcontractors such are Inspection Test Plan (ITP), Material Approval Request (MAR).
• Prepare / Review / Approve the related inspection reports where inspection results are recorded- Controlling inspection status by using systematic tools such as inspection matrix.
• Setting and applying practical inspection process of particular discipline based on Project requirements and International Codes (providing ITP and managing Matrix).
• Control NCRs to be closed out within the due date and supporting to prepare Corrective Action Plan properly.
• Performing and coordinating inspection with client.
• Carry out QC Supervisor’s responsibility in their absence.
• Control quality violations through regular tool box talk with the construction team.
• Review and track material submittals required for Civil Definable Features of Work prior to Preparatory Meetings.
• Conduct Preparatory Meetings with Subcontractors related to Civil Definable Features of Work.
• Inspect incoming material deliveries by confirming specifications and compliance with approved submittals, conduct visual and measurement tests in conjunction with the onsite logistics team.
• Reject and facilitate the return of unacceptable materials.
• Ensure to apply lessons learnt and proper preventive action conducted.
• Monitor and inspect specific Civil related activities such as Compressive Strength Test, Soil Compaction, on site-off site laboratory test if required.

Education and Certification

• Minimum Education Level: Diploma in Civil engineering major.
• Certificate related to Civil discipline.

Experience

• From project start to completion
• Construction experience in an oil / gas / petrochemical / Building and Infra structure as QC Inspector / Supervisor
• Working experience in the Engineering and Construction Industries
• Having technical knowledge and familiar with related international codes and standards in particular discipline
• Able to check that suitable and appropriate inspection and test tools are used
• Investigating and analyzing nonconformities and observations and figuring out solutions
• Knowledgeable in field surveying and calculation
• Capability of planning and controlling inspections for medium scale project (0.5~1.5 billion dollar)
