Position Title: Architect

1. Job Purpose

To provide professional architectural planning, design, documentation, coordination, and technical supervision services for the Client’s building and infrastructure projects, ensuring that projects are delivered in accordance with approved designs, applicable standards, quality requirements, timelines, and regulatory requirements.

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop architectural concepts, designs, layouts, and design solutions for building and infrastructure projects.

  • Prepare, review, and update architectural drawings, specifications, schedules, and other technical documentation.

  • Translate project requirements into practical, functional, and aesthetically appropriate architectural designs.

  • Coordinate architectural designs with structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and other relevant disciplines.

  • Review contractors’ shop drawings, material submissions, samples, and other technical submissions.

  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor architectural works and ensure compliance with approved designs and specifications.

  • Identify and provide solutions to architectural, design, and construction-related issues arising during project implementation.

  • Participate in design review meetings, technical meetings, site meetings, and project coordination sessions.

  • Support the preparation and submission of drawings and documentation required for planning approvals and regulatory compliance.

  • Monitor the quality of architectural works and provide technical guidance where required.

  • Review proposed design changes and assess their impact on project requirements, quality, cost, and timelines.

  • Maintain accurate records of architectural drawings, revisions, technical submissions, and project documentation.

  • Participate in project handover activities and support the preparation and review of as-built drawings and documentation.

  • Provide professional architectural advice and technical support to project teams and other stakeholders.

  • Ensure that architectural designs consider functionality, safety, accessibility, sustainability, and efficient use of space where applicable.

3. Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.

  • Master’s Degree in Architecture or a related field is an added advantage.

Professional Certification / Registration

  • Registration with the relevant professional body, where applicable.

Relevant Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in architecture.

  • Demonstrated experience in building design and architectural documentation.

  • Experience in construction supervision and site inspection.

  • Experience coordinating architectural designs with other technical disciplines.

  • Experience working on building or infrastructure projects is an added advantage.

4. Key Competencies

  • Strong architectural design and planning skills.

  • Good knowledge of building codes, standards, and applicable regulations.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent architectural design software.

  • Knowledge of BIM principles and digital design tools.

  • Strong construction supervision and technical inspection skills.

  • Strong multidisciplinary coordination skills.

  • Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Creativity and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.

  • Ability to work effectively with consultants, contractors, project teams, and other stakeholders.

5. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Quality and timely delivery of architectural designs and technical documentation.

  • Compliance of designs and architectural works with applicable standards, codes, and regulations.

  • Effective coordination of architectural and multidisciplinary designs.

  • Timely identification and resolution of design and construction-related issues.

  • Reduction of design-related errors, rework, and construction issues.

  • Accuracy, completeness, and quality of project documentation.

  • Effective support during construction, inspection, and project handover activities.

6. Other Requirements

  • Proficiency in relevant architectural design and documentation software.

  • Willingness and ability to undertake regular project site visits.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.

  • Strong commitment to professional standards, quality, and attention to detail.
