About the role

Responsible for carrying out incoming, in-process and final inspections to verify that components and finished products meet approved drawings, specifications, work instructions and quality requirements. The role records inspection results, identifies non-conforming items and supports timely follow-up with the relevant departments.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, first-piece, in-process and final inspections on components and finished products according to approved drawings, specifications and work instructions.

  • Conduct visual, dimensional and functional inspections using appropriate measuring equipment.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions and tolerances.

  • Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality documentation for traceability.

  • Identify, label and segregate non-conforming products, and report defects to the QA Engineer and relevant departments.

  • Assist with quality investigations and the verification of corrective actions.

  • Ensure inspection equipment is properly used, maintained and within its valid calibration period.

  • Support the maintenance of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, including audit preparation and audit activities.

  • Work with relevant departments to resolve quality issues.

  • Maintain proper housekeeping, document control and safe work practices.

About you

  • NITEC, Higher NITEC or Diploma in an engineering-related discipline, or equivalent.

  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in quality inspection, QA/QC or a manufacturing environment.

  • Able to read engineering drawings and use common precision measuring instruments.

  • Careful and systematic, with attention to detail and the ability to identify and record defects accurately.

  • Able to follow inspection procedures, maintain accurate records and communicate quality findings clearly.

  • Possess basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills.

  • Able to work in a manufacturing environment and occasionally lift or handle rail blocks weighing up to 15 kg, with appropriate equipment or assistance where required.
