Quality Assurance Supervisor

Summary

Oversee night-shift food safety and quality assurance at a bakery, performing QA checks, making disposition decisions, and coaching sanitation teams to uphold quality standards and regulatory compliance.

Engelman’s Bakery is seeking a collaborative, people-centric leader to serve as Food Safety and Quality Assurance Supervisor supporting night shift operations at our bakery. This role is ideal for a hands-on food safety leader who enjoys ownership, thrives on night-shift autonomy, and wants to directly influence product quality and team performance.

Reporting to the Director of Food Safety and Quality Assurance, the FSQA Supervisor leads and supports night shift Quality execution and sanitation oversight. This role balances hands-on involvement with thoughtful leadership—knowing when to step in personally and when to coach and develop others.

In Quality Assurance, this individual works directly with the night shift Production Manager as a key decision-maker, ensuring Engelman’s core value of Quality is upheld on all products leaving the facility. Responsibilities may include performing QA checks, making disposition recommendations, and initiating product holds as needed.

In Sanitation, the FSQA Supervisor oversees night shift sanitation technicians, including scheduling, assigning, and validating sanitation work, as well as coaching employees to ensure compliance with SSOPs and audit requirements. Employees in this role interact regularly with their leader to receive guidance, feedback, and support.

  • Set weekly schedules for sanitation technicians based on production and sanitation workload requirements.
  • Oversee and validate sanitation execution to ensure equipment and facilities are properly cleaned and prepared to produce safe, quality products.
