Quality Engineer

Role Overview

The Quality Engineer will lead GenAI-driven and Playwright-based test automation for a global Retail/ECommerce platform. The role owns end-to-end (E2E) test design, automation, execution, and stability across UI and API layers using JavaScript/TypeScript. The QE will triage regression failures, fix flaky tests, and progressively migrate scripted Playwright tests to the organizations AI-leveraged testing tools (e.g., InteractAI). Responsibilities include test management, CI/CD integration exposure, production sanity checks, runbook publication, and mentoring/leading a small QA/automation team. Close collaboration with product and engineering is essential to ensure high-quality releases across international marketplace features.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on GenAI-based automation testing experience
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
• Hands-on Playwright experience for UI automation
• End-to-end (E2E) test design and execution
• UI and API automation testing expertise
• Retail/ECommerce domain experience
• Test management tools (Jira, TestRail, Zephyr/Xray)
• Experience leading a team
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and test integration
• Manual testing and regression triage experience
• Ability to migrate/align Playwright tests with AI-driven testing tools (e.g., InteractAI)

Responsibilities

• Own E2E test strategy, design, automation, execution, and reporting across UI and API layers for Retail/ECommerce features.
• Leverage GenAI-based automation to author, maintain, and optimize tests; onboard to internal AI testing tools and best practices.
• Develop and maintain Playwright-based automation frameworks using JavaScript/TypeScript; ensure reliability and scalability.
• Gather requirements for international marketplace features; design and prioritize tests based on approved requirements.
• Triage regression suite results; log and classify failing/flaky tests; fix failures and stabilize flaky tests.
• Automate prioritized manual test cases and incorporate them into the regression suite; ensure adequate coverage.
• Plan and execute pilot and phased migrations of Playwright tests to InteractAI; retire redundant/legacy tests.
• Integrate and run automated suites within CI/CD; perform test execution sign-off and production sanity checks.
• Manage testing activities using Jira/TestRail/Zephyr/Xray; ensure traceability and clear reporting.
• Lead and mentor the QE team; publish runbooks, document processes, and hand off ownership to internal QE.
