Job Summary

The Quality Engineer: Laboratory is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of laboratory testing and quality systems. The role supports problem-solving, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration to meet Tetra Pak’s quality, food safety and environmental standards.

What you will do

As a Quality Engineer, you will:

1. Laboratory Operations & Testing
• Oversee daily laboratory testing to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and compliance with test methods.
• Validate and verify laboratory equipment, methods, and instruments.
• Review and approve test results, laboratory reports, and certificates of analysis.
• Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments.
2. Quality System Compliance
• Ensure laboratory activities comply with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, BRCGS, FDA,) and internal quality systems.
• Maintain and update laboratory SOPs, work instructions, and technical procedures.
• Support internal and external quality audits, customer audits, and regulatory assessments.
3. Non-Conformance & Root Cause Analysis
• Participant investigations for testing failures, non-conformances, and customer complaints.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and DMAIC.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify effectiveness related with laboratories.
4. Data Analysis & Reporting
• Analyze laboratory data, trends, and quality indicators to identify improvement opportunities.
• Prepare quality reports for management, including lab performance metrics and quality trends.
• Support Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other analytical quality tools.
5. Continuous Improvement
• Drive improvement projects to enhance testing accuracy, reduce variability, and strengthen quality processes.
• Support digitalization, automation, and method optimization in the laboratory.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with Production, Maintenance, D&T, and Supply Chain teams to solve quality issues.
• Support new product development, raw material qualification, and process validation activities

We believe you have

Education
• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a related Engineering field.
Experience
• 2–5 years of experience in quality, laboratory testing, or a similar technical role.
• Experience in a regulated Food packaging is preferred.
• Film manufacturing or plastic injection molding industry is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong knowledge of laboratory testing methods and quality systems.
• Familiar with ISO9001/ ISO14001/ BRC/ FDA/ ISO22000/ OHSAS18001 system
• Proficient in statistical analysis tools (SPC, MSA, Process capability Cp Cpk) and quality methodologies (WCM, TPM,5W1H, Fishbone,5Why, Kaizen)
• Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Good communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with a high level of accuracy.
