Quality Supervisor - Kingston Plant
The Quality Supervisor leads and directs the quality function at the Kingston plant, leading the plant's QC Inspectors and owning the plant's quality program end-to-end. This is a leadership role responsible for building quality functions and systems at the Kingston CM plant.
- Drive Root-Cause-Corrective-Action (RCCA) and coordinate Material Review Board (MRB) process across the plant for continuous improvement efforts.
- Lead plant's QC Inspectors, coordinating daily inspection priorities and providing technical guidance and quality expertise.
- Own reduction of top warranty drivers (i.e. paint defects, aluminum weld defects, aluminum tarnish) with measurable YoY targets tied to plant EBITDA/GM goals.
- Support structured problem-solving (5 Whys, Fishbone, PDCA) and cross-functional Kaizen events.
- Design and implement in-process and final inspection standards where formal procedures may not yet exist.
- Own quality KPI reporting (i.e. scrap rate, warranty $/volume, first-pass yield, audit results) directly to the Plant Manager.
- Partner with Engineering, Production, and Purchasing on supplier and process root causes for top defect categories.
- Develop and audit Standard Work procedures; drive 5S implementation and sustainment across work areas.
- Establish and lead operator training programs for quality standards and inspection techniques.
- Serve as primary point of contact for internal and external audits, including ISO 9001 compliance.
- Build the foundation for a formal Quality Management System (QMS) as plant volume and complexity grow, including the framework for future quality staff additions.
