Job Summary
You will lead cost management activities by preparing detailed quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and budgets to ensure project financial control. Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate quotations, manage contract compliance, and deliver accurate commercial reports that support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and quantify materials and work items from drawings and specifications to support accurate project costing
- Develop detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities (BQ) to guide financial planning and resource allocation
- Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to maintain budget compliance throughout project lifecycle
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to inform award recommendations aligned with project objectives
- Prepare and assess progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts to ensure accurate financial documentation and payment processing
- Assist in contract administration by ensuring adherence to contract terms and managing contractual obligations effectively
- Track and assess cost implications of design and construction changes to maintain financial accuracy and project viability
- Liaise proactively with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to facilitate clear communication and resolve commercial issues
- Prepare comprehensive cost reports and commercial summaries for management review to support informed decision-making
- Support claims preparation, negotiation, and dispute resolution processes to protect project interests and minimize risks
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in construction.
- Familiarity with construction drawings, contracts, and cost control processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Autocad & Bluebeam
- Demonstrated analytical skills applied to cost evaluation and negotiation
- Effective communication skills to engage with diverse project stakeholders
