Quantity Surveyor Specialist

Job Description


  • Price/forecast the cost of the different materials needed for the project.

  • Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation.

  • Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.

  • Procure or agree the services of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project.

  • Handling all the costs associated with construction, interior and project work (Budget and cost control).

  • Negotiating and adjusting the price base for the workload to be in line with standard.

  • Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.

  • Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required.

  • Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.

  • Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.

  • Liaise with the client and other construction professionals, such as construction managers, project managers, site architects and foremen.

  • Selecting and sourcing construction materials.

  • Handling other duties as assigned.

Qualification


  • Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineer or related fields.

  • At least 5 years’ experience in Quantity Surveyor, Estimate Engineer, Office Engineer or related.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and the ability to learn how to use specialist software.

  • Knowledge in Construction Drawing, Building construction, and Renovation.

  • Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and pressure situation.

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.

  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.

  • Well organized, systematic thinking and management skills.
