In this role, you will be involved throughout our development process and will take part in exploring new ideas and conducting early-stage research, all the way to maturing products and preparing them for market launch. The role As an R&D Engineer, you will be part of Gabriel’s design and development team, where you will be responsible for solving technical development tasks, including the development of new innovation or product areas. The projects can be highly complex and often require developing new technical insights. You will be responsible for ensuring a structured and methodical approach to research, testing and product maturation, ensuring clear progress, high-quality decision-making and alignment with the needs of the business. Responsibilities The role is highly centred on development tasks, where the overall project goals must be translated into concrete hypotheses and development tracks. Your primary responsibilities will be to: plan and conduct technical research within materials, products and new development areas break down complex challenges and issues and translate them into hypotheses, test designs and development tracks collect, analyse and validate technical data from tests, standards, market benchmarks and collaboration partners define functional requirements and develop methods for testing and evaluation plan, coordinate and evaluate development trials in collaboration with relevant partners translate results into clear recommendations, decision-making material and next steps collaborate with design and development teams to combine and balance all product qualities. You will be an integrated part of our internal development team, while also collaborating with suppliers, laboratories and external partners. Profile We are looking for a methodical strong, and structured engineer who thrives on independent responsibility and complex tasks. You move comfortably between hands-on product development in new product areas and more exploratory research and experimental trials that deliver progressing results. We imagine that you: hold a master’s degree in engineering have a strong methodological foundation that guides your choice of analyses, test trials and communication are interested in testing and experimental development work, where the method sometimes has to be defined can assess data quality and translate technical insights into business-relevant decisions combine existing knowledge with the courage to try new approaches to gathering data and insights thrive in effective collaboration across functions and external relationships have a strong and proven ability to learn and master new disciplines and areas of expertise communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken. Practical information The position is based at our headquarters in Aalborg, Denmark, with approximately 15-20 travel days per year, primarily to suppliers and partners in Europe.
