At Weibel, you will join a truly technology-driven company delivering advanced Doppler radars worldwide. With full-scale production located alongside our development teams, we can explore new solutions together and continuously improve our products. Demand for our products is growing, and customer solutions are becoming increasingly complex. We are therefore looking for a new colleague to help develop the next generation of our advanced radar systems. Design and verify mechanical structures for radar systems Your main responsibility will be to develop concepts and mechanical designs that enable the radar to meet all performance requirements. Your tasks will include: Identify, design and implement solutions that meet performance requirements in new and existing pedestal, Mobile Tracking Base and surveillance radar designs and concepts, in close collaboration with colleagues Plan and execute test and evaluation campaigns for mechanical designs and complete radar systems Maintain and further develop current and next-generation mechanical pedestals, Mobile Tracking Base platforms and cooling units Other responsibilities will include: Optimize mechanical parts for production by selecting suitable manufacturing methods and adapting designs accordingly Identify performance limits and root causes to support future improvements Support production and customers with accurate, up-to-date documentation Participate in prototype assembly, testing and evaluation, as well as DFM reviews with our large in-house production team Your profile You can get up to speed quickly with new design tasks while learning the specific trade-offs involved in Weibel radar design. Your professional background includes: A university degree in mechanical engineering Experience designing machined metal parts Experience with CAD tools, such as Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault Preferably, knowledge of designing mechanical systems for harsh environments, from arctic conditions to desert climates Preferably, experience developing products with CE compliance in mind Strong communication skills in English Specific radar knowledge is not required; we will provide a tailored introduction to radar technology. Your new team In Weibel’s R&D department, you will join more than 250 highly skilled and dedicated colleagues. Our subgroup consists of 20 mechanical engineers with experience ranging from a few years to more than 30 years, working across a wide range of projects. We work closely with electronic engineers, hardware engineers, technical designers, production specialists and system architects because we believe the best solutions come from bringing different competencies together early in the design process.
