The job

The Senior Member of Technical Staff will be a hands-on software engineer responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality, scalable, and secure cloud-based solutions for AVEVA CONNECT. The role requires strong expertise in C#, .NET, Angular, Microsoft Azure, SQL Server, and modern software engineering practices. Working closely with Product Owners, stakeholders, Scrum teams, and cross-functional R&D teams, the successful candidate will contribute to technical design and delivery, mentor engineers, support design and code reviews, resolve customer issues, and drive continuous improvements in engineering quality, security, and development practices.

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Product Owner, stakeholders, and Scrum Team to understand, define, design, and implement software solutions that meet business and customer needs.

  • Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning and estimation, backlog refinement, daily Scrum meetings, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Collaborate with Customer Support to troubleshoot customer-reported issues, identify root causes, and drive them to timely resolution.

  • Develop high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code that is fully reviewed, unit tested, documented, and delivered in accordance with agreed quality standards.

  • Analyze, design, implement, and validate security requirements in alignment with industry-standard cybersecurity practices.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices, development processes, and overall product quality.

Essential requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.

  • Strong hands-on expertise in C#, .NET / ASP.NET Core, and enterprise cloud-based application development.

  • Good understanding and hands-on experience with modern front-end frameworks, particularly Angular.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud-native architecture.

  • Strong software design fundamentals, including OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, and reusable framework/component design.

  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server, database design, data access patterns, and application performance considerations.

  • Strong engineering quality and security mindset, including automated testing, secure coding, authentication/authorization, dependency risk, and vulnerability remediation.

  • Strong technical leadership skills, including mentoring engineers, conducting design/code reviews, defining engineering standards, and collaborating across Development, DevOps, Security, Product, and R&D teams.

  • Strong awareness of cybersecurity principles and their importance throughout the software development lifecycle.

  • Ability to translate business and product requirements into technical designs, executable backlogs, dependencies, estimates, and realistic delivery plans.

Desired skills and competencies

  • Good understanding of Azure DevOps, CI/CD practices, Infrastructure-as-Code, and Azure automation using PowerShell / Azure CLI.

  • Strong operational awareness, including observability, logging, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance diagnostics, and production support.

  • Experience with technical discovery, prototypes/POCs, architecture documentation, and communicating technical decisions across teams.

  • Knowledge or practical experience with AI, Generative AI, AI-enabled applications, and AI-assisted software development.

Hybrid working
