Description
- Assists physicians in invasive and non invasive procedures using proper sterile technique.
- Obtains and reviews documentation before performing exam. ie Physician Prescription, Consent Form, and Contrast Media Questionnaire.
- QC’s all exams in RISynergy as the exam is completed to insure accurate historical report data.
- Selects proper technical factors on an individual basis to insure the highest quality of diagnostic images while insuring that patients and co-workers are protected against needless radiation exposure.
- Responsible for the thorough knowledge of Radiographic policies, procedures, equipment and supplies as well as the operation of PACS, RIS, HIS programs.
- Takes an active part in patient education by explaining the examination process.
- Promotes positive patient relations in a caring environment by making patients comfortable and at ease during procedures.
- Transfers and positions patients using extreme care, patience and proper body mechanics.
- Identifies patients using the hospitals double identification policy.
- Responds to back-up calls as needed within 30 minutes.
