Description
Project description
The programme is building a resilient, secure, production-grade platform of Python backend services, REST APIs, asynchronous processing components and external integrations, backed by MongoDB and delivered through a React/TypeScript operational user interface with auditable operations and role-based enterprise user journeys. As an experienced React and TypeScript engineer, you will own the platform's operational user interface, including data-rich screens, API integration, status and exception handling, accessible components and role-based enterprise user journeys.
Responsibilities
- Own complex operational screens, reusable components and front-end patterns.
- Integrate REST APIs and manage server state, caching, polling and error handling.
- Implement consistent UI using the agreed enterprise design system.
- Manage client state and role-based UI behaviour.
- Deliver accessible interfaces aligned to WCAG principles.
- Create component, unit and integration tests.
- Optimise performance and troubleshoot complex UI/API behaviour.
- Contribute to design decisions and support Junior engineers.
SKILLS
Must have
- Years of experience: 10+ Must have (strong production expertise):
- Strong production SPA development in React and TypeScript: hooks and reusable components.
- Complex operational UI: dashboards, tables, status/exception displays and changing operational data.
- REST, async handling, caching, polling, loading/error states and correct stale-vs-fresh data presentation with timestamps.
- Translating designs into consistent reusable enterprise components (Nitro or comparable design system).
- State management: Redux Toolkit, Zustand or comparable.
- Hands-on accessible UI delivery (WCAG 2.2 AA) – not awareness only.
- Component/unit/integration testing and maintainable code.
- Role-based journeys (authentication/RBAC) and secure enterprise UI behaviour.
- Responsible use of AI coding/testing assistants. Independently owns complex screens and front-end patterns, contributes to design decisions and diagnoses complex UI/API issues.
