Our Culture
Our culture is anchored in excellence, meaning constant improvement, and it is deeply tied to our mission. Because markets are objective, competitive, and getting smarter everyday, we need to keep rapidly improving to have any chance of beating them. Truth is our most essential tool for engaging with the markets and constantly improving because once you know what's true about your problems and opportunities, you can determine how to get better. Valuing truth means being transparent about your decision-making and mistakes, giving and receiving feedback with humility, and fighting for the best answers over hierarchy, ego, or self-interest. Operating this way is hard – it's only possible because we build meaning in our work and relationships. This meaning comes from the audacity of the mission, and the joy of working alongside people who make you a better version of yourself. The culture, like Bridgewater itself, is always evolving. In 1997 our founder Ray Dalio wrote down his lessons, starting with a Philosophy Statement which remains our foundation. This later evolved into a set of 300+ Principles. In 2022, when Ray transitioned the company, we re-underwrote several of those principles and evolved others, with a specific focus on Meritocracy. Today the culture sits, alongside our people, as our most important edge. When we get it right, it’s the engine that powers everything else.
About Your Role
As a Recruiting Operations Associate (ROA), you will own the coordination of a search from start to finish. Your role is to make sure that all search activity and deliverables come together on time, in the right order, and with clear communication to all stakeholders. Most significantly, this includes directly managing relationships with all candidates in your portfolio, creating an experience that is authentic, excellent, and logistically smooth.
Being a great ROA requires significantly more than just strong execution. You will partner with hiring managers and one or more recruiters from your team to understand search goals and translate them into concrete outcomes, whether that’s crafting job descriptions, arranging interviews, or measuring search progress.
This is a position with ample opportunity for impact – creating a world-class hiring experience for hiring managers and candidates alike.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Owning full candidate lifecycle logistics and overall operations for a search portfolio
- Scheduling a high-volume of both virtual and in-person interviews
- Ensuring an excellent experience for all candidates
- Partnering closely with the recruiters on your team, staying aligned on priorities and taking prompt action on deliverables
- Maintaining accurate, up-to-date candidate and search data in our applicant tracking systems
- Coordinating directly with hiring managers, interviewers, and candidates to keep the process moving and to resolve logistical issues as they arise
- Handling sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment
- Effectively using metrics to measure search progress, gauge pipeline health, and spot problems
- Identifying and making process improvements that impact that entire team, not just your own book of work
- Learning about the business units you support, building strong relationships with hiring managers and interviewers along the way
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record (any field of study)
- 3+ years of professional experience; prior experience with recruiting/talent acquisition is welcomed but not required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail, particularly in the context of high-volume work and concurrent priorities
- A proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving
- Strong judgment, including knowing when to operate independently and when to ask for help in ambiguous circumstances
- A commitment to continuous improvement, including openness to feedback and the willingness to share feedback with others
