About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced BCM professional to lead the design, implementation, and oversight of our Operational Resilience and Business Continuity Management framework across the Asia & Oceania region. In this sole-contributor role, you will ensure alignment with group policies and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions, while driving a culture of resilience and preparedness.

Responsibilities:

1. Regional BCM Framework & Policy Ownership

  • Define and maintain Operational Resilience Principles aligned with group standards and regulatory expectations
  • Design, implement, and oversee a regional BCM policy, framework, and minimum standards
  • Ensure consistency and proportionality across entities with varying business models and regulatory profiles
  • Periodically review frameworks to reflect regulatory changes, audit findings, and lessons learned

2. Regulatory Alignment & Supervisory Readiness

  • Interpret and translate BCM and Operational Resilience regulatory expectations (MAS, SFC, and other regional regulators)
  • Act as the regional subject-matter expert for regulatory engagements, inspections, and audits
  • Support businesses and local entities in embedding resilience principles and responding to regulatory queries

3. Governance, Oversight & Coordination

  • Design and maintain regional BCM governance structures, committees, and reporting standards
  • Define clear roles and accountability between regional oversight and local execution
  • Coordinate with local BCM committees to ensure timely delivery of BCM obligations

4. Business Continuity Planning & Crisis Management

  • Set region-wide standards for Business Impact Assessments (BIA), BCPs, and crisis management protocols
  • Oversee local entities in developing and maintaining actionable plans for critical functions
  • Ensure crisis management structures and communication protocols are clearly defined

5. Testing, Exercises & Continuous Improvement

  • Design and deliver an annual regional BCM testing and exercise programme
  • Review and challenge test outcomes, identify gaps, and ensure timely remediation
  • Document results and secure management sign-off

6. Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and cross-functional teams
  • Provide guidance, training, and awareness to local BCM coordinators and stakeholders
  • Promote a strong Operational Resilience culture across the region

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in BCM or Operational Resilience within financial services
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing BCM frameworks, crisis management protocols, and testing programmes
  • Proven ability to operate independently in a regional role
  • Experience engaging with regulators and supporting internal/external audits
  • Strong policy design, regulatory interpretation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Structured, methodical, and audit-defensible approach
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and balance group standards with local nuances
  • Strong knowledge of MAS and SFC BCM expectations
  • Experience covering BCM in other Asia Pacific jurisdictions
