About This Role
The Regional Sales Director is responsible for leading all commercial activities within the Central Region of the United States, driving revenue growth, market expansion, customer satisfaction, and profitable business performance. This role provides strategic leadership to a team of sales professionals while partnering closely with Product Management, Marketing, Customer Experience, Operations, Finance, and Channel Partners to achieve business objectives.
The successful candidate will develop and execute regional sales strategies, strengthen customer relationships, expand market share, and ensure alignment with corporate growth initiatives. The Regional Sales Director serves as a key member of the North America Sales Leadership Team and is accountable for achieving annual sales targets, improving sales effectiveness, and building a high-performing sales organization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with North America growth objectives.
Create and implement annual business plans to achieve revenue, margin, and market share targets.
Analyze market trends, competitive activity, customer requirements, and industry dynamics to identify growth opportunities.
Partner with executive leadership to support strategic business initiatives and long-term commercial objectives.
Revenue Growth & Business Development
Achieve and exceed regional sales, profitability, and market penetration goals.
Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within target verticals and geographic markets.
Expand relationships with key customers, distributors, consultants, integrators, and channel partners.
Drive strategic account planning and customer retention initiatives.
Monitor sales performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
Sales Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Regional Sales Managers, Account Managers, and sales professionals.
Establish clear performance expectations, sales goals, and accountability measures.
Conduct regular sales reviews, pipeline assessments, and performance evaluations.
Foster a culture of collaboration, customer focus, continuous improvement, and results-oriented execution.
Support talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
Customer & Market Engagement
Engage directly with major customers and strategic partners to understand business challenges and opportunities.
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, customer meetings, and professional organizations.
Gather customer feedback and market intelligence to influence product strategy and business priorities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Marketing to develop regional demand generation and lead development strategies.
Collaborate with Product Management to align customer requirements with product roadmaps.
Work closely with Operations and Customer Service teams to ensure exceptional customer experiences.
Support forecasting, business planning, pricing strategies, and inventory optimization efforts.
Forecasting & Business Management
Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and forecast process.
Review and report regional performance metrics, opportunities, risks, and market developments.
Utilize CRM and sales analytics tools to drive data-based decision-making.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical business practices.
Basic Qualifications
Associate’s Degree
10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience.
5+ years in a regional or national sales management role.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue growth objectives.
Experience leading geographically dispersed sales teams.
Strong background managing strategic accounts, channel partners, and complex sales cycles.
Experience within industrial, safety, fire and life safety, building technologies, manufacturing, or related industries preferred.
