About the Role

We’re looking for a Release Engineer to join a growing Technology Delivery team, supporting the planning, automation and technical delivery of software releases across enterprise-scale, cloud-native applications.

This is a hands-on engineering role, combining release engineering and CI/CD responsibilities with opportunities to contribute to .NET development when release priorities allow.

You’ll work closely with Development, QA, Platform, Infrastructure and Operations teams to ensure releases are reliable, repeatable, well-documented and delivered to a high standard.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Plan, coordinate and execute software releases across multiple environments
  • Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines and release automation
  • Validate deployment artefacts, environment readiness and technical dependencies
  • Investigate deployment failures, pipeline issues and environment inconsistencies
  • Support rollback, contingency and post-release activities where required
  • Identify and manage technical risks, issues and dependencies
  • Maintain deployment runbooks, technical documentation and release evidence
  • Work closely with development, QA, infrastructure and external technology partners
  • Contribute to improving release processes, automation and engineering standards
  • Support the development, testing, debugging and maintenance of .NET applications when release demand allows
  • Participate in Git workflows, code reviews and technical troubleshooting

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years’ experience in Release Engineering, DevOps, Deployment Engineering, CI/CD or a similar software delivery role
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud environments
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or Jenkins
  • Practical experience with Git-based development workflows
  • Hands-on experience developing or supporting .NET / C# applications
  • Understanding of application build, configuration, packaging and deployment processes
  • Ability to analyse logs, pipeline outputs and deployment results to troubleshoot issues
  • Experience working across distributed, multidisciplinary or multi-vendor technology teams
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and take ownership

Desirable

  • Experience within financial services, insurance, InsurTech or another regulated environment
  • Experience with Azure data platforms and integration technologies
  • Experience working within technology consultancies or software houses
  • Familiarity with modern cloud-native architectures and deployment patterns

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to join a modern technology environment where you’ll have genuine ownership of the release process, while continuing to develop your hands-on engineering skills.

You’ll play an important role in increasing automation, improving deployment reliability and helping mature the organisation’s software delivery capabilities.

Occasional out-of-hours release support may be required with appropriate notice.

Salary and benefits: Competitive package based on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
