Reliability Electrical Lead Technician
Summary
Lead technician performs condition-based monitoring (vibration, thermography, ultrasound) in steel plants, diagnoses failures, documents evidence, and supports reliability engineers with audits and reports.
• Provide diagnoses based on analysis of CBM data collection, for common patterns.
• Collect physical evidence (photos, measurements, parts condition).
• Support RCA investigations.
• Confirm condition monitoring alerts.
• Support shutdown reliability assessments.
• Maintain historical reliability logs.
• Support Weibull data collection.
• Support Reliability Engineers in preparing weekly, monthly and annual reports.
• Support Reliability Engineers in conducting work quality audits during shutdowns.
Required Qualifications:
-Vocational/Technical Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Maintenance, Industrial Electrical Systems, Instrumentation, Electronics, or a related discipline.
Preferred Experience:
-Vocational/Technical Certificate: Minimum 7 years of electrical maintenance experience in steel industry or heavy industry operations.
-Diploma: Minimum 5 years of electrical maintenance experience in steel industry or heavy industry operations.
-Bachelor's Degree: Minimum 3 years of electrical maintenance experience in steel industry or heavy industry operations.
-Experience performing condition monitoring, equipment inspection, and equipment condition assessment activities in steel plants or similar heavy industrial environments.
-Prior experience guiding technicians in steel plants, rolling mills, or similar continuous process industries.
-Prior experience supporting reliability improvement activities, equipment diagnostics, and maintenance teams in continuous process industries.
Job-Specific Skills:
-Ability to support condition monitoring and reliability assessment activities.
-Ability to support inspection, condition assessment, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment.
-Ability to perform and interpret condition monitoring activities including vibration monitoring, thermography, ultrasound inspection, and other diagnostic techniques.
-Ability to identify equipment abnormalities, performance deviations, and potential failure indicators, and support corrective actions.
-Ability to coordinate and guide technicians during reliability inspections, condition monitoring activities, and field data collection.
-Ability to verify inspection quality, measurement accuracy, and compliance with reliability and maintenance standards.
-Effective communication and coordination with Reliability Engineers, Maintenance Supervisors, Technicians, and cross-functional teams.
-Ability to support maintenance teams during breakdowns, shutdowns, equipment assessments, and reliability improvement activities.
-Strong adherence to Safety Standards, SOPs, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and emergency procedures.
