Remote DevOps Engineer — AWS, Terraform & Cloud Security

Vorwerk Digitalia, part of Vorwerk Engineering within the Vorwerk Group, seeks a DevOps Engineer for the Cloud Team. You’ll manage AWS infrastructure, Terraform modules, and security-hardening, while enabling product teams in Elixir, Java, and Go to deliver scalable cloud services.

You will partner with SRE/Platform Eng and security to implement standards, automate pipelines, and improve reliability. This is a remote Italy contract role, with focus on automation and proactive improvements.

Monitor and maintain AWS accounts with cost efficiency, security, and compliance. Own, refine, and scale Terraform-managed infra for Elixir, Java, and Go services. Collaborate with SRE/PE to implement security, compliance, and operational requirements. Design and enforce best practices for Dockerization, certificate management, and cloud security. Automate deployment pipelines, monitoring, and incident response to reduce toil. Troubleshoot infrastructure issues from containers to databases (PostgreSQL, Redis). Document and advocate DevOps standards for self-service within guardrails. Stay ahead of AWS and DevOps trends, delivering proactive improvements. Proven experience as a DevOps/SRE/Cloud Engineer in a large corporate env. Deep AWS expertise: EC2, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, security tools. Terraform: writing and scaling modules for complex infra. Containerization: strong Docker; familiarity with ECS/EKS is a plus. Security mindset: certs, encryption, hardening, IAM best practices. Automation: Bash, Python, Go or similar for tooling. Fluency in English, strong cross-team collaboration.
