Remote Full Stack Developer - E-commerce Platforms

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding e-commerce solutions provider, is actively recruiting a skilled Remote Full Stack Developer to enhance their digital platform development capabilities. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in South Africa. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust and user-friendly e-commerce websites and applications. This role requires proficiency across both front-end and back-end technologies, with a focus on creating seamless and engaging online shopping experiences. You will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and other developers to deliver innovative e-commerce solutions. As a key member of our remote team, you will contribute to the entire development lifecycle, from concept to deployment, in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement user-facing features using modern front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
• Build and maintain server-side logic, APIs, and databases for e-commerce applications.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and translate them into functional code.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and responsiveness.
• Integrate with third-party services, including payment gateways and shipping providers.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code across the full stack.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across the application stack.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in web development and e-commerce.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Full Stack Developer, with a strong focus on e-commerce.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and modern frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js).
• Solid experience with back-end languages and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python/Django, Ruby/Rails, PHP/Laravel).
• Strong understanding of database design and management (SQL and NoSQL).
• Experience with RESTful API design and implementation.
• Knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and deployment processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities, essential for remote collaboration.
