Remote | Software Engineer, New Grad — $180,000–$250,000/year

We are sharing a full-time opportunity for recent graduates and early-career Software Engineers with strong fundamentals in JavaScript or TypeScript and exposure to React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, cloud platforms, and modern software-development practices to build production systems across internal platforms and AI-powered products.

The role provides hands-on experience across full-stack product development, backend services, frontend interfaces, databases, APIs, production operations, and engineering quality. The successful candidate will initially contribute alongside experienced engineers and progressively take greater ownership of critical systems, internal workflows, and product capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Stack Product Development

• Contribute to the design and development of end-to-end full-stack systems
• Build features supporting internal workflows and platform capabilities
• Participate across frontend, backend, database, and integration layers
• Translate product requirements into reliable production functionality
• Develop increasing ownership of systems as technical experience grows

Backend Services & APIs

• Build clean and maintainable backend services
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs
• Apply scalable engineering practices under guidance from experienced engineers
• Improve service reliability and maintainability
• Support communication between distributed application components

Frontend Engineering

• Develop high-quality user interfaces using React or comparable frameworks
• Build interfaces for internal teams and end users
• Translate product and design requirements into functional experiences
• Improve frontend maintainability and usability
• Apply modern JavaScript and TypeScript development practices

Data Modelling & PostgreSQL

• Contribute to relational database design
• Work with PostgreSQL or comparable relational systems
• Participate in schema design and data-modelling decisions
• Analyse and improve query performance
• Apply sound data-management principles across product features

Engineering Quality

• Participate in code reviews and collaborative engineering workflows
• Write and maintain tests for production functionality
• Contribute to technical documentation
• Identify opportunities to improve code quality and engineering practices
• Support continuous improvement across development processes

Production Reliability & Troubleshooting

• Help investigate and resolve production issues
• Develop familiarity with resilient and observable system design
• Learn to diagnose failures across application components
• Participate in monitoring and operational workflows
• Apply lessons from production incidents to future engineering decisions

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with product, operations, and design teams
• Translate business and user needs into engineering solutions
• Communicate implementation trade-offs clearly
• Participate in feature planning and technical discussions
• Work closely with experienced engineers on production-ready delivery

Engineering Judgement & Growth

• Develop practical judgement around speed, scalability, and maintainability
• Evaluate trade-offs between short-term delivery and long-term system quality
• Build familiarity with modern software architecture patterns
• Learn from code review, production experience, and technical mentorship
• Progress toward ownership of increasingly critical systems

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
• Recent graduate or graduating soon
• Internship, co-op, research, substantial academic, or meaningful personal-project experience building software
• Strong fundamentals in JavaScript and/or TypeScript
• Familiarity with React or similar frontend frameworks
• Familiarity with Node.js backend development
• Experience with NestJS is advantageous
• Understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with core data-modelling principles
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and distributed application communication
• Exposure to Git and modern software-development workflows
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Curiosity and willingness to learn rapidly
• Strong attention to detail
• Interest in taking increasing ownership within a fast-moving engineering environment
• Internship or professional software-engineering experience is advantageous
• Exposure to AWS, GCP, or Azure is beneficial
• Familiarity with CI/CD, deployment pipelines, or DevOps fundamentals is advantageous
• Exposure to microservices, serverless, or event-driven systems is beneficial
• Interest in AI-powered products, automation, or data-intensive applications is valuable
• Experience through team projects, hackathons, open-source contributions, or startup environments is a plus
