The Rendering Software Engineer will develop and maintain rendering features and engine components for the EA SPORTS UFC franchise. This role involves implementing real-time rendering techniques, optimizing CPU/GPU performance, and collaborating with art and design teams using C++ and modern graphics APIs.

On our UFC Rendering team, we build the technology behind immersive, high-quality visuals across multiple platforms. As a Rendering Software Engineer, you will join us in improving visual quality, performance, and player experience while partnering with Engineers, Artists, and Designers.

We work in a hybrid model, with three days per week onsite at our EAV Studio in Burnaby, British Columbia. You will report to the Senior Software Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • You will develop and maintain rendering features, engine components, and tools.
  • You will help us research and implement real-time rendering techniques.
  • You will collaborate with our Art and Design teams to turn visual goals into technical solutions.
  • You will help us debug, profile, and optimize CPU/GPU performance.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional C++ development experience.
  • 2+ years working with real-time rendering engines.
  • Experience with DirectX 12, Vulkan, Metal, or similar APIs.
  • Experience with graphics debugging, profiling, optimization, multithreading, memory management, and PC or console development.
  • Experience developing or implementing real-time rendering techniques.
  • Experience in utilizing AI-assisted development tools (e.g. coding agents) to rapid prototype, accelerate execution and automate workflows, with the ability to critically review and validate AI-generated code.
