Description

Be a Source of Stability. Support Women Veterans. Change Lives.

Join the Center for Veterans Issues, Inc. (CVI) and help create a safe, structured, and supportive residential environment where female Veterans can heal, rebuild, and transition toward independent living.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to support Veterans during a critical stage of their journey toward independence. Your presence, consistency, and professionalism will help create a safe and supportive environment where Veterans can stabilize, build confidence, and move forward with dignity.

If you are dependable, compassionate, and ready to support male Veterans as they rebuild their lives, we would love to meet you.

What You’ll Do

Support Residents with Structure, Safety, and Respect

You will provide second-shift supervision, engagement, and support to female Veterans while maintaining a safe, respectful, and structured residential environment. You will conduct hourly wellness, safety, and curfew bed checks; provide calm emotional support and de-escalation during crises; directly observe urine-specimen collection when required; and assist residents with daily living expectations, chores, and compliance with facility rules.

Coordinate Program Support and Documentation

You will maintain accurate shift documentation, incident reports, resident logs, and other required records in accordance with grant and organizational standards. You will collaborate with case managers, clinicians, and service providers to support individualized care plans and connect residents with services that promote stability, wellness, and long-term housing success.

Support Facility Operations and Daily Accountability

You will monitor the facility for maintenance, cleanliness, security, and safety concerns and promptly report issues to the VPC Receptionist or other appropriate staff. You will help maintain clean, orderly common areas; support residents in caring for their personal spaces; enforce curfews and visitor policies; monitor sign-in and sign-out logs; and ensure all doors and windows are secure.

Respond to Crises and Protect Resident Safety

You will respond appropriately to medical, behavioral, environmental, substance-use, conflict-related, and mental health emergencies. You will follow established protocols, maintain professional boundaries, protect confidentiality, and use sound judgment to address safety concerns while treating every resident with dignity and respect.

Support Compliance and Program Standards

You will assist with data collection and reporting required by the VA, HUD, local grants, and other funding sources. You will uphold organizational policies related to grant compliance, service delivery, resident safety, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.

What Success Looks Like

Success means completing and documenting 100% of required bed checks, accurately completing all incident reports before the end of each shift, and reporting maintenance and safety concerns within two hours. You will also support at least 85% daily completion of resident chores and help provide respectful, professional services, as reflected in at least 90% positive resident feedback.

We are an EEOC/AA/ADA employer; we strongly encourage Veterans to apply.
