Job Summary
The Fischer Group is looking for a technically curious, highly motivated Residential Construction Estimator to help improve how we estimate and deliver single-family and multifamily residential construction. This is an opportunity for someone who understands construction, enjoys working with numbers and plans, and wants to grow into increasingly complex estimating responsibility
You will develop and review residential cost estimates, perform quantity takeoffs, document scope and assumptions, and help ensure that estimates translate accurately into purchase orders and field execution. You will work across Architecture, Site Design, Construction, Purchasing, and Finance to identify cost drivers, resolve discrepancies, and improve the systems and processes behind our estimates.

These skills will be used to:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates using standardized templates, established workflows, and approved estimating systems.
- Generate and release purchase orders in alignment with defined timelines and production schedules.
- Review construction documents and selections to ensure alignment with estimates and identify discrepancies prior to release.
- Process revisions and change orders in accordance with established procedures and system controls.
- Conduct comparable job reviews to validate estimate accuracy and consistency.
- Maintain data integrity across estimating systems, Excel upload sheets, and structured templates.
- Follow established estimating standards, checklists, and workflow requirements to ensure consistency and quality.
- Escalate non-standard, complex, or unclear estimating scenarios to senior team members for review.
- Support departmental production needs, including overflow estimating assignments, as required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in estimating, construction operations, data analysis, or a related field.
- Experience in residential construction or production homebuilding.
- Exposure to estimating systems, ERP platforms, or database-driven workflows.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.
Physical demands and work environment:
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders through telephone and face-to-face interaction.
- Must be able to operate standard office equipment including a computer, calculator, and copier.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while performing computer-based work.
